‘Supreme Forgiveness carries the message of greatness and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today graced the Maitri Mahotsav Raipur organised by the Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj.

The event, titled Guru Sharanam – Maitri Mahotsav – Kshamadan Utsav, was held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium under the auspicious blessings of Pujya Aryikaratna 105 Antarmati Mataji Sasangha.

The gathering witnessed the presence of MLA Rajesh Munat, office bearers of the Jain community Chhattisgarh and several distinguished citizens.

On this sacred occasion, CM Vishnu Deo Sai offered a Shreephal to Pujya Aryikaratna 105 Antarmati Mataji and sought her blessings.

The Chief Minister was felicitated with the traditional Jain turban and stole, highlighting the deep-rooted culture of respect and spirituality in the Jain community.

CM Sai also honoured individuals for their exceptional contributions in various fields and unveiled the official logo of the Acharya Vidyasagar Kalyan Seva Sanstha.

Significance of Maitri Mahotsav Raipur

Addressing the audience, CM Vishnu Deo Sai emphasised that the Maitri Mahotsav is not merely an event but a profound occasion for inner awakening and purification. He said, “India has always been a land of spirituality, not just a cradle of culture and civilisation. Religion here is the art of living, extending far beyond rituals and worship.”

The Chief Minister highlighted the timeless message of Lord Mahavir Swami: “Live and let live”. Referring to the recent Kshamadan Parv, he said its essence lies in the principle of ‘Uttam Kshama, Sabse Kshama aur Sabko Kshama’ — supreme forgiveness, forgiveness towards all, and by all. CM Sai stated that this embodies true greatness and the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, a core principle in Jain philosophy and universal human values.

Honouring Achievers and Service Initiatives

CM Vishnu Deo Sai felicitated several notable personalities during the Maitri Mahotsav Raipur.

Mr.

Manish Jain was recognised for his contributions to the construction and preservation of Jain pilgrimage sites.

Mr.

Vijay Godha received accolades for his work in Ayurveda services, while Mr.

Sunil Sangolia was honoured for his outstanding social service.

The Chief Minister also unveiled the Guru Smriti and a Haiku composed by Acharya Vidyasagar Ji, engraved on silver, symbolising spiritual and cultural heritage.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai appreciated the Jain community Chhattisgarh for its benevolent work, stating that their spirit of service continually benefits the state. “The values of ahimsa (non-violence), aparigraha (non-possession), and anekant (pluralism) form the foundation of a harmonious society,” he added.

Message of Acharya Vidyasagar and Jain Philosophy

The Chief Minister elaborated on the teachings of Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, calling his life and philosophy a source of inspiration for all. “True religion lies in renunciation, service, and self-restraint,” CM Sai said. He also noted that Chhattisgarh is privileged to have hosted Acharya Ji during his austere spiritual practice, culminating at Chandragiri Tirth.

CM Sai underlined that the ideals of Jain Tirthankaras — Ahimsa Parmo Dharma, Anekantavad, Satya, and Sanyam — are not just the heritage of the Jain community but are the soul of the nation itself.

Community Initiatives and Future Outlook

During the event, Sakal Digambar Jain Samaj President Vinod Barjatya introduced the Acharya Vidyasagar Kalyan Yojana and appealed to community members to actively participate in the initiative. CII President Sanjay Barjatya also addressed the audience, emphasising collaborative efforts for social welfare.

The program saw participation from numerous dignitaries including Narendra Jain, Yashwant Jain, Ratanlal Barjatya, and Sudhir Bakliwal, showcasing a vibrant blend of spirituality, culture, and social responsibility.
